2. Because there is only one effective side in the slot, there is no need for interlayer insulation, which reduces the possibility of interphase short circuit in the slot.

Characteristics of double-layer automatic winding machine winding
Double-layer windings generally have a true sense of double-layer windings, which is usually referred to as double-layer windings, that is, two coil sides are indeed placed in each slot. However, there is also a single and double-layer winding. From the formal point of view, this winding means that some slots are single-layer and some slots are double-layer. The surface does not look like double-layer winding. However, it is essentially double-layer. It should be seen or understood that the other coil side in the single-layer slot is not absent, but according to the requirements of the electrical performance of the motor, the number of turns on this coil side is very small, which can be negligible, so that the coil of this winding is considered as zero turns; therefore, when dealing with single and double-layer windings, it should still be carried out in accordance with the technical principles of the arrangement of double-layer windings. Its characteristics are as follows:
1. The number of turns is equal to the total number of slots. The upper and lower layers of each slot are respectively embedded with one effective side of two coils, which is time-consuming.
2. Interlayer insulation is required between the upper and lower coils in the slot, and the utilization rate of the slot is relatively low.
3, there may be a phase short circuit fault.
4, can choose a more favorable pitch, can improve the slot potential and magnetic field waveform, improve the electrical performance of the motor.
5. The end of the winding coil is neat and beautiful.
